Settling in Angel, Islington

Come to think of it, I have been here for around a month now (come 16th June). Time really flies, right? Well, will try to write something each day about the interesting thing about London and her inhabitants.

Yj and I watched British Got Talent, a British version of American Idol. It's more interesting though as it involves not only singing but other acts as well, thus the word 'talent'. Some involve magic show others features dancing animals. Well, you get the picture.

Anyway, Simon Cowell is one of the judge (big suprise!). One thing to note is that the British are generally more subtle and polite lot (as compared to the Americans, of course). They are less cruel to the paricipants and to make matters more interesting, the auditions (unlike A.I.) are held in front of live audience!

One particular act that left a lasting impression is a guy call James (can't remember his surname). His was a comic impressionist act. His father, apparently, was a popular act back hime until he was struck down by Parkinson. He hope that he can get into the next round to make his dad proud. He did.

Oh.... did I mention that the winning acts in the finals will get to perform to thte Royal Family?

I called Dad just now to wish him Happy Birthday.
