There's stuff to do every day of the week. Not just movies and plays, though the West End is filled with them. That's for another day. But for those working regular office hours, other than hopping down to your regular pub, you can go for one of the London Walk after work.
This is how it works. You don't have to book, no need to buy tickets. Just be at the start point at the allocated time and look for the guide with the 'London Walk pamphlet' and pay him 6 pounds per pax. You will then hang around him until he starts his tour. It's essentially a 2 plus hour walking tour with a theme. There are 'Ghost Walks', 'Ancient London', 'Harry Potter Walks', 'Jack the Ripper Walk'.... and so on... well, you get the idea.
It's highly entertaining and I thought that for 6 quid, it's a rather good buy considering that an average movie ticket here costs 9.5 quid. Have went for the 'Harry Potter' and 'Jack the Ripper' walk. The former was entertaining while the latter was really terrifying.... had trouble sleeping that night.. serious!
