Ah... some cake comfort...

I spent the greater part of my childhood in Queenstown, it's just down the road from Bukit Merah and just off AYE. Every now and then, my Wife and I will pop by Alexandra Central and have a feast at the hawker centre in Alexandra Village. There's this particular confectionary shop facing the hawker centre which we particularly like. It looks like it belong to the 70s and early 80s (way before Breadtalk comes along) and the main specialty is its swiss roll... hmm...

Guess what? We found its replica in Leicester Square. A normal day will see it thronging with customers (mainly Chinese and an occasional caucasian). We will get a swiss roll caked with peanut bits to be washed down by a simple cup of milk tea... ah... that's simple contentment.
