Weather is rather dismal these days, overcast skies with strong winds coupled with temperature ranging from 5 to 10 degress celsius is the norm. Thus weekends are mostly confined to indoor activities. Not to worry though, for London has much to offer to people who grew up in the tropics.
Went to National Portrait Gallery and was browsing through the portraits when I met our friend Sir Stamford Raffles. His portrait is among those who are honoured, in one way or another, for the prosperity of Britain. Just a sidenote.. realised that his full name is Sir Stamford Bingley Raffles.
It's quite a surreal feeling though. His achievements (nearly 200 years back) enabled us to travel half the world to view his portrait in his home country. Well, it's like completing the circle of sorts.

Our dear Friend...
