Psst... you want one?

Was waiting for my property agent the other day somewhere near the City University when a car pulled up beside me.

A guy stuck out his head from the passenger window and gestured to me. Thinking that he was asking for directions, I went towards him.

"Psst... you want a computer?", he whispered to me.
"Er, what?"

He pulled out a Vaio from his back seat.

"This one! I sell it to you cheap, just for you!" (yeah right...)

All that I could think of at that moment in time was the poor chap who found his beloved Vaio missing only to be peddled off for a pittance several streets away.

Sensing my hesitation, the guy rolled up the windows and the car pulled away from the curb and turned round a tight corner. I didn't even get to see his license plate...

A lawyer paid RM10k for a "fake" Rolex worth RM10...happened like couple of weeks ago and was in the news.

I'd happily give away my Vaio -- in the less than six months I've had it I've had to get a new hard drive and a new battery.

eh? What has it got to being a Chinese? This Singaporean needs a new laptop as well!

Me too. That means no blogging and Entrecard for me.

Really? Haha, he must have thought that he got a great deal at that point in time... if it's too good to be true, it probably is.

My wife's Vaio's video card went bust within a few months. It's fine after replacement. It's really the luck of the draw, isn't it?

But hey, buy Vaio for the design not the quality. :)

That happened to a friend of mine in London while we were there! Only the trick is that you give them the 500 pounds or 200 or whatever and they give you a bag of bricks!! (or a bottle of coke). Even if you keep your eye on the bag the whole time they somehow switch it! Sad stuff!

I bought one once (Thinkpad) and reported and delivered it to the police. 2 weeks later I got twice the money back, they found the owner.
