"Singaporean in London" honoured...

London Mayor Keith Dyingstone has taken note of a particular Singaporean's contribution to London's tourism industry and is returning the favour by sponsoring free tickets with 7 nights accomodation to the now defunct Savoy Hotel for the duration of the stay.

A Singaporean in London was highlighted as the prime example of how blogs can promote tourism in London in the keynote speech of Mayor Dyingstone in his election rally held in the City this morning. As a result of the blog's effort, tourists flocking to the capital has tripled the figures over the same period last year.

"As a token of our gratitude, the City of London would like to present 10,000 free tickets with accomodation to tourists coming from South East Asia.".

Dyingstone's address was met with huge applause. His gesture marked the dawn of tourism for London.

Hahaha... It's good news for you isn't it? I always thought Mr Ken L looks like a Monkfish. Try looking at a picture of him on Billingsgate Fish Market Catalog. He was posing right next to one and I couldn't tell the difference!
Am I eligible to win the tickets too? :P

Lol, it was fun while it lasted. For the records, the incumbent London Mayor is Ken Livingstone and he is struggling to be reelected... and he never did mention "A Singaporean in London" in any speech whatsoever.

But hey, BBC did a documentary about penguins flying to the tropics during winter. Virgin did an article about US adopting euros as the national currency due to "cultural" reasons...

Almost had me fooled.

Then I noticed something fishy, checked the date, 1 April 2008.

Happy April Fools! :D
