Hurray China! And so long for the Olympic games. I do hope its effect and spirit will be totally positive.

What do you think will be the crowned champion this time?

Was there today when I saw the banner. I think China has done/doing well. China has proves it's stand, and being Chinese, I think it's a very proud moment, no matter which countries one is from. I specially love the song sang by the artistes from all over Chinese Speaking Countries - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3WRueNaunlE
pls go see. :D

@webbiestuffs,
I was nearly late for work while trying to catch synchronise diving on BBC this morning. Oh well...

I wouldn't call myself a nationalist, which reminds me of mindless zombies who do not react well to criticism against their country regardless of its merit.

I prefer to 'label' myself as a.... sentimentalist. :)

@wanderer...
Though I'm inclined to think that the host country will do really well... but I would say that the competition this year is quite tough. I wouldn't place my bet on any country just yet.

What's your pick then?

@joeru,

Hmm, seemed that I've missed that part of the show. Thanks for the heads up. Cheers!

@ecl,
Defnitely. But I think the London committee should not feel pressurized into pulling off large scale displays.

Bring in those bagpipes!!

Gotta profit where you can.

China is pressured to do well, and I do wish to see her topple the US from the top in the medals rankings.

I've always supported France in major sporting events (Olympics, FIFA etc) due to my pure fascination of this country. :P

@kyh,
Hmm... somehow I get this feeling that the medal tally has become an east (China) vs west (US) sort of thing. Or has it always been the case?

@renee,
That simple banner does draw some photographers (like me)... perhaps I should have stopped by for a bun or two as well... :)
