London Metropolitan Hotel review - Nobu bento set, spa and massage

Where could one stay if one wants to be within easy reach of the delights of Knightsbridge?

I would say the London Metropolitan Hotel where we recently spent a delightful weekend. Its rooms are sleekly decorated with a minimalist feel and spacious by London's standards. Its location is delightful - a brisk 10 minutes' walk to Harrods and Hyde Park is just next door if you care for a walk in the crisp autumn air.

If you fancy some pampering the Como Shambhala Spa of the London Metropolitan Hotel is excellent and Victoria, who is the massage therapist at Como Shambhala comes highly recommended by Wife.

Foodwise, you would be spoilt for choice for your meals - Nobu is on the first floor or you could even order their bento box as room service.

If you, like us, are a bit tired of the hotel's continental breakfast, Shepherd Market is just round the corner. Pubs, small little cafes, pizzeria, restaurants and convenience stores lined the street. What more can you ask for?

We had an excellent time at London Metropolitan Hotel, everyone from the receptionists to the concierge was truly helpful. So if you are a tourist on the hunt for a hotel to stay in London or a Londoner who wants a mini break, the London Metropolitan is your answer.

What a lovely idea! It looks lush but certainly in line with a frugal staycation! I'm buying The Husband a ride on a Ferrari for his birthday but maybe I could arrange a night out like this for our anniversary.

Ok, please explain to me why you would stay in a hotel in London when you already have live in London! I am baffled. Feanor is baffled, goes the cry around town.

Now that your husband is covered (Ferrari ride does sounds good!), treat yourself to a massage. Wife was going on and on about how good it was.

Believe it or not, it's rather refreshing being a tourist in your own town. With a camera strapped on and spending the entire day lying on the grass in Hyde Park... what bliss. Darn the chilly winds!

Sounds like a perfect wee break. I could definitely see myself enjoying a spa and a relaxation massage. In fact the sheer thought of the bento box has suddenly made me very hungry indeed...

Realised that it might not be possible to drag the Little One into Nobu. Imagine our surprise when we found out that they actually do room service. Nobu's only offering the bento for room service though.
