It wasn't the first time Coram's Fields came up when one of the mums from NCT mentioned it. Coram's Fields is also MC's favorite place to bring his kids to especially during weekends.
Despite what the Met Office says, it was a brilliant day on Sunday and we brought LO there. To be honest, my first impression of Coram's Fields was one of dismay. "She (the NCT mum) must be kidding. It's nothing but a patch of grass with kids running around!" I muttered under my breath. And it wasn't exactly a stroll from Angel either.
On second look, however, I can see why Coram's Fields is considered as one of the place to hang out with kids when the sun is out. Other than two sizable patches of flat grassland (one of which was closed to 'fallow' when we were there), there are a couple of well thought out playgrounds scattered in the peripheral, a fountain in the centre (wasn't working when we were there), an enclosed ballpark and even some goats accompanied by a couple of roosters and hens for the toddlers' amusement.
If anyone's feeling a bit peckish, Kipferl Cafe is at one corner of Coram's Fields with some stools and benches set out at its front. Incidentally, unless I am mistaken, the Austrian coffee house has opened up a full size cafe over at Islington's Camden Passage. Even the toilets at Coram Field's, a precious facility especially in central London are on the east wall of the enclosure.
Now, that's a place to bring your kids to when there's a spot of sunshine.

Coram's Fields - where kids go play in London
